Asian American Leadership Center

The AALC is a 501(c)(3) faith-based ministry organization that serves as both a ministry consulting and a missionary-sending organization.

Mission: To empower Asian Americans for life and leadership in service to God and others.

Ministries: To date, our team members have been led by the Spirit of God to launch 3 new churches, 3 new ministries, and 3 national leadership conferences.

History: In January, 2004, a number of innovative ministry leaders discerned the need for a new kind of ministry organization, one that would focus on (1) equipping existing church leaders in established ministry contexts, as well as (2) empowering young, emerging, and entrepreneurial leaders to custom-design their own ministry positions and to launch new ministries and ministry organizations in response to God's unique calling on their lives. The Asian American Leadership Center is a response to that need.

My Role: Since the founding of the AALC several years ago, I've had the privilege of serving as the Executive Director, with responsibilities ranging from coaching ministry leaders, to developing our organizational infrastructure, to serving as an church consultant to numerous churches and ministries.

Cerritos Baptist Church - So Cal Church Planting

Cerritos Baptist Church is a mid-size church in southern California whose strengths include ministering to English-speaking Asian Americans.

My Role: From November, 2005, to August, 2008, I had the wonderful opportunity to serve as a church consultant, and then as an Interim Executive Pastor, with the Staff and Board of Cerritos Baptist Church. My focus was to assist in their exciting efforts to start a new church plant in Southern California!

My Responsibilities: As a consultant, my responsibilities included (1) designing and facilitating a leadership decision-making & planning process, (2) assisting the Church Plant Staff with strategic planning and legal incorporation, and (3) assisting Senior Pastor Gary Tawa and the Home Church Staff by facilitating weekly Staff meetings to re-envision the home church's vision, priorities, and disciple-making strategy, and by coordinating strategic planning weekends for CBC's Staff, Board, and key lay leaders.
